Study in M.I.T. for free

Today I read an article about open courseware and was very impressed by this idea. Read below link for details on the Open courseware at MIT.

Open Courseware is a consortium of universities working together to share their teaching materials using all the available mediums like Audio, lecture notes, assignments and videos. Some of these are the best universities in the world, like the MIT, Cambridge etc. And they have their complete courseware online. Some of the study material will help you understand Particle physics while others might help you be proficient in a foreign language (Espaniol perhaps) to get that prized posting in Europe or you can read how economics theory is taught at MIT’s Sloan School of Management.

Leaving Fond Du Lac...moving to Nashville

Well folks, am moving to a new location(Nashville). You might say "Again ?". Well in my defence, all I can say is that I had a nice time( 3 months) here. To be frank, I am happy to leave this place. Wisconsin is very cold in winter (how does -20 sound to you) and lets face it...Fond du Lac, even though a very beautiful place is very boring.
But the hospitality of the people here is the best...Adios and all the best to you folks at Fond du Lac and to my friends Ravi, Manju, Yasin, Harish and Adarsh.

Mr Murthy...read your history...

Recently there was an article on a speech by Mr. Narayana Murthy, in which the esteemed entrepreneur says that "Never before in the last 1,000 years did India receive so much attention as it has been receiving in the last 10 years". WTF Mr Murthy.
Even a man on the street can testify that India was great from ages on...Remember the Greek guy who came to India (Alexander) or that Portuguese guy (Vasaco Da Gama) or that guy from Columbia (or Spain) who wanted to eat Tandoori chicken and landed on America (Columbus). Also don't forget the strange white traders who taught you (or your forefathers) english and who went back to their home in 1947 (not sure why, but I think there was a naked Fakir who told them to Quit India or some thing)
All these and other people came to India...why? Because they all knew about India..how great it was, how rich it was, how weak it was..... and dreamed about stealing its riches (some thing our politicians are more capable of). Also FYI..India and China accounted for 50% of the world economy before the 19th century. Read the link.

MOTS (Moral of the story)...You may be a great entrepreneur but you should not have skipped the history class for doing your math's homework.

Atlast got my new Passport....phew..

Atlast after 5 weeks of wait, I got my new Indian passport. The wait was very harrowing and made worse by no one responding to emails or phone calls. I was going to personally visit the embassy (4 hour drive one way) to sort out any issues but my luck improved and someone at last (a nice lady) picked up the phone.
She told me that the Chicago consulate has a lot of backlog and hence processing was taking more than 5 weeks. Also due to this they were not responding to phone /email inquiries. I got a confirmation from her that my application was being worked upon and as promised by her I received the passport.

My Advise for those who are trying to renew
1. Try to visit the embassy personally and get the passport the next day.
2. If sending by mail, have patience. Also try calling these numbers. 312-595-0413 or 0411.
